Halo sahabat ahzaa selamat datang kembali di blog Ahzafs. Pada post kali ini kita akan berlatih soal bahasa Inggris online tentang mendeskrepsikan jenis dan ciri- ciri hewan. Topik ini merupakan salah satu materi bahasa Inggris kelas 7 SMP/ MTs semester dua (genap) yang dikembangkan dari kompetensi mendeskripsikan mengidentifikasi,, mengkritisi, memberikan penilaian tentang orang, binatang, dan benda dari segi tindakan dan atau fungsinya.

Latihan soal dibawah ini akan diberikan soal mengenai gambaran tentang hewan baik sifat, karakteristik, kebiasaan mereka kemudian dipilih jawaban tentang hewan tersebut dalam opsi pilihan ganda. Terdapat 15 butir soal bisa dikerjakan secara online, dengan skor pencapaian pada bagian akhir latihan soal.

1. They are mammals. They are the only mammals that fly. There are nearly 1,000 species (kinds) of them. They are found in all kinds of habitats.
Their wings are made of two layers of skin. The wings are supported by bones like those in hand. The thumbs have claws and lie outside the wings. It uses them to cling to the places where it roosts. These may be trees, caves, or even buildings.
They sleep by day and hunt by night, have some vision. They use it to find food. They also use smell and, especially, hearing.

2. This animal is the largest member of the cat family. It has a unique stripe pattern that can be used to tell it apart from others.
They have explosive speed. They have strong muscles and long legs that help them move extremely fast over short distances. Their long tails give them balance while running fast. Powerful jaws and sharp teeth help them grab and kill prey once they catch it.

3. They are the tallest animals in the world. They have long neck. A big male of them stands almost 20 feet (6 meters) high. They live in Africa, on plains called savannas. They live in places where there are trees with leaves that they can eat.
They have short bodies and long, skinny legs. Their front legs are a little longer than their back legs. Males are usually taller than females. They can gallop as fast as 35 miles per hour (56 kilometers per hour).

4. They are insects. They have three pairs of legs and four wings.
They are going from flower to flower. They are collecting a liquid called nectar and yellow grains called pollen. They use nectar and pollen as food. They also do something wonderful as they go about collecting.

5. They live in Africa and parts of Asia. They are the biggest animals alive today. They have long trunks. The trunk is made of its nose and upper lip. An elephant has two big tusks, one on each side of its mouth. The tusks are made of ivory.

6. They are big cats, a bit smaller than lions or tigers. They have a yellow to pale brown coat covered with black spots. can run as fast as 58 miles (93 kilometers) per hour. They are probably the fastest animals on Earth.

7. It is simply a long, thin animal. It does not have arms or legs. It crawls along the ground on its belly.
They are reptiles. Like all reptiles, They are cold-blooded. They can’t control their own body temperature, and so they have to lie in the sun to get warm and in the shade to get cool.

8. They are mammals with branched horns called antlers. There are many kinds of them, and they live on every continent except Australia and Antarctica.
Many of them live in wooded areas. They feed on leaves, twigs, bark, and the buds of bushes and young trees. Some of them live in more open areas and eat grass. They tend to move about in groups, or herds.

9. They are flying insects with two pairs of large, colorful wings. They are strong fliers, but they can only fly if their body temperature is higher than 86 degrees Fahrenheit, or 30 degrees Celsius. In cooler weather, they spread their wings in the sun to warm their bodies.

10. It is the biggest animal on Earth. It’s not an animal that lives on land. It can grow to be 80 feet (24 meters) long and weigh 150 metric tons. They look like fish, but they are not fish. They are mammals that live in water.

11. It is an animal that lives in Africa. Like a pig, it has a tubby body, big head, and short, thick neck. It eats only vegetables. It lives half its lives in water. 12. They are a special kind of mammal called a marsupial. Baby marsupials must live in a pouch on their mother’s abdomen. They live only in Australia and New Guinea.
Most of their species have big ears and small heads. They are covered with fur. Their fur is usually brown or gray. They have small front feet with five toes each. They have huge back feet with four toes. One of the toes on each hind foot has a sharp claw that it use to defend itself. They use their big hind legs and thick tail for hopping. Some of them can leap really far.

13. It is an iconic Australian animal. It is a marsupial—a mammal with a pouch for the development of offspring.
They look fuzzy, their hair is more like the coarse wool of a sheep. They have two opposing thumbs on their hands, and both their feet and hands have rough pads and claws to grab onto branches. They have two toes, fused together, on their feet, which they use to comb their fur. They live in the eucalyptus forests of southeastern and eastern Australia. When not sleeping, they’re usually eating. They rely on the eucalyptus tree for both habitat and food. They can eat more than a pound of eucalyptus leaves a day.

14. They are powerful animals with lots of thick fur and a short, stumpy tail. They have big heads with a long snout (nose and mouth) and small ears and eyes. They have four short legs that end in paws, each with five sharp claws. They use their claws to climb trees, dig up roots, or catch prey.
They usually live alone unless they are mother with cubs. They roam over large areas looking for food. They need a lot of food for energy.

15. It has has shaggy white fur with a black patch around each eye and a ring of black around the shoulders, front legs, and chest. The biggest is about 5 feet (1.5 meters) long and weigh up to 220 pounds (100 kilograms).
It lives in the mountains of south central China. It eats the leaves and stems of bamboo trees. It is an endangered species. There may only be about 1,000 of these animals left in the wild.
